Lake Toba

 
Lake Toba is a lake located in the province of North Sumatera. Lake Toba is a volcanic lake that occurs when there is an explosion of the volcano at 69000-77000 years ago, is expected as well as one of the largest volcanic explosions in the world. After the blast, creating a caldera that later fills with water and we now know as Lake Toba. This lake has a length of 100 km and 30 km wide with a depth of 505 meters. Middle of Lake Toba there is also a small island which is also called Samosir Island. Lake Toba became a tourist destination for tourists both domestic and foreign tourists since long.

When a friend went to see Lake Toba, it is advisable to stop at the town of Parapat. From there could see the beauty of lake toba clearer. Parapat also includes one of the tourist city in northern Sumatra. So do not worry for business accommodation, hospitality, and the like. And also later from Parapat, access to the surrounding tourist areas other toba easier, because there was a ship, ferry, or the like. The majority of residents in the surrounding area is Lake Toba Batak. In general, the people there to work as farmers, traders, and fishermen. According to the people there is a fairy tale about the origin of the formation of Lake Toba.
